A friend once left a denim jacket at my place. It took me a few days to return it to her, only because I was busy making a pattern from it. I liked the original cut of her jacket but wanted a couple of things changed. I dropped the shoulder so the sleeve hangs further down your arm and I expanded the cut slightly to make it baggier.
I am not entirely sure what inspired me to start painting on them, but once I started I could not stop. So far I have created three custom jackets, one of which was sold and shipped to Canada a few years ago.

I have always liked working with denim. It’s sits well and if cut correctly, can create a really solid fit. It’s also really comfortable and over a couple of washes always gets better.
Somewhere on Pinterest I guess I saw this fish, I liked it and at some point in time, started to paint it.

I learned a lot about layering colours. On a blue denim a lot of other colours simply disappeared and so a lot of white was needed to create a base coat to start from. I wanted the colours to pop.

I would often work late into the night. It was when I would start making mistakes that I realised I had reached the point of dismissing return. so I would go to bed, and start again early the next morning.

This is one of my favourites. Her eyes do something to my soul.
These funny guys :)

I wonder where she came from?

A real life portrayal of all the emotions an artist goes through in a day. Trust story.

Girl, where are your pearls?

This jacket is called “Naughty Renaissance”.
My hand just sometimes take over and I am not sure where I am going until I get there.

A gentle daily reminder.

Wait a second, that’s not toast?
